otherwise, looking good man. this mean you're gonna make it to the next streetmeetngreetneat?

yeah ill be there for sure, and i mainly leave them up for vision, my sin visors are allways down because the cage stops them from , well being up, and with them at the bottem they sit up a bit and piss me off, with them up i dont even notice there up.. not in line of sight etc...

and its been raining a lot lately, the up stroke wipes the glass good and doesnt leave any residue, on the down stroke it leaves water on the screen :P

and yeah goes faster with them up also

Was reading about Angus Button's 1975 Honda Civic Deluxe
The thing puts out 420Nm of torque at the wheels
so he has an electronic boost controller:
first: 7psi
second: 12psi
third/fourth fifth: 24psi

Cut his time for the quarter from 13.0 to 12.6 seconds.

Its amazing how many people know Angus lol

The car is crazy once he selects third! Flamethrowers rock too ;)

Saw your car today on the sunny coast cruise and followed the URL on the windscreen to here ;)

Very nice, get those paint runs sorted out and you've got yourself one hell of a ride.

Tempted to do one myself... I had a mini back in the day, but ran out of money way before I got to do anything exciting to it. 45DCOE webber, redline manifold, big shiny tip out the center back.... But a g13bt would certainly be FAR more interesting :)

thats kewl man,

with the conversion to the gti. did you ......
= do the subframe yourself then get it engineered.
= do the brakes your selfe.
= was it difficult to finish the conversion
= would you recommend it
= wat sort of price was the final product eg.. for the engineering, halfcut, brakes, subframe etc.

thanks heaps mate, and sorry for all the questions but im just looking into a conversion like this....

cheers

I got the subframe from dennis turner (built twincamminis frame) i had to reinforce the front tie bar mounts and change the engine mounts, but yeah i got it pretty cheap, thanks dennis :) hehe

brakes, camira calipers and rotors?? calipers $40 for 2, rotors $26 trade price each, my mate whos a aprentice fitter and turner, he made the brackers and spacers , bought him a carton of piss  he also made my axles :) price $0

difficult, not really, bit of motivation is all you need, fuel lines and brake lines, fidly stuff like fitting the instrument panel and all the other stuff was time consuming..
for someone like me it was a good conversion to do, cheap subframe, cheap donor car $600, available tools from work etc.. and i was able to take the car to work for a week to work on it which made it a lot easier..

it cost me under 3 grand to do the conversion to NA .. all the little things added up.. the brakes were most expensive, dual master, prop valve (reco'd) new booster, lines etc came to about $800 .. the donor car, $600 , subframe was cheap.. new clutch, waterpump , timing belt, engnine mounts, number plates fuel pump, lines, air cleaner intake, exhaust, small wiring job (indicator stalk and wipers) rego and few other things 8)

id recomend doing an NA conversion, i wish i left it na, i spent $5 grand turbo'ing it , wheels, turbo, cooler, exhaust, piping, new crank, pistons, rings bearings etc, fuel reg steering wheel, guages, tacho, oil and boost and cant remember other stuff but added up quickly..

hope thats enough info
