For you other SC-12 owners-

I pulled the clutch system off the charger today to see what type of shaft it has. Once I got the assembly off, I realized where a TON of weight was. The whole assembly weighs around 7-8 pounds. Gotta talk to my machinist buddy and see about getting a new pulley made.

Well. Doesn't look good.for a front mount. Gonna stick to the rear.

I mocked up a new manifold this evening. The old fashion way. It's rough, but gives me an idea on where to put things. Kind of a mix between the MM one and 92's.

Still have to test it. Looks like I made it to tall. Also I'm having a buddy machine a new pulley too. Should be quite a bit lighter.

CIS injection mock is next!

This is now my SC project thread-

Scrap that manifold. Need to figure something else out. Palyed around some more this evening.

I may have an interesting find for you Moke/Clubby owners too. Pics in a short while.

I was toying with this idea before, but the dip stick would have been upside down, and drain plug in the wrong place. After seeing the car in the classifieds with the SC mounted different then the kit available, I realized the charger can be flipped, and the gear housing cover flipped as well (It look like there's a cover out there that will this the rightway, different SC12's had different gear housing covers, mine bolts up, but it misses 4 bolts holes).

Since it's flipped, now I can use the mounting points to secure it using the stock generator bracket mounts seems work good. Fit pretty good, but will need some spacers and stronger brackets. Alignment of the pulley shouldn't be at all tough either. The charger should just barely clear the oil filter mount. I plan to run a remote filter, so my bracket will be even smaller than stock.

I had received some of the piping and the TB off the Toyota when I bought the SC. So I decided to see if any of it could be saved. Looks like the pipe on the front of the charger will work as my inlet with a little cutting. The other pipe on the block side will be cut up so I can use the flange for a new pipe. Once I get a little better fitting pipe I should be able to move the charger about 1" closer to the block. This pipe will either wrap around the head, or go directly over the head to my plenum/intake manifold.

Pics-

Update again :P

Tried another route- I'll have to build a little bracket to mount the charger this way though(still using the gen. mounts) and the charger will be the tensioner for the system.

By running it this way, it tucks the charger in about 3-4 more inches closer than the other way I tried it. It's nice to have the old Toyota pipes. Actually kind of give a good idea or where things can go.

ok the first super charger in the red mini, the question was asked if it was an electric motor and someone said dont be silly its got a blet, well It could be true you know the electric motor could be driving the mini motor???????

To beau that great just like my make in south africa thinking about how to get the most but missing the driveablitiy factor how are you going to run an alternator or just chage it up everynight?

Ben idea is so simple and easy i think he has hit it on the head but he needs to do a kit for the sc14 for the bigger motors.

I was planning on adding a ginormous solar panel wing on the roof :P

Kidding of course. Planned to run it on the back of the block. I wanna run an intercooler on my set-up.

92's is great! I'm glad it's out there! It has inspired me to do a set-up myself! I'm nt making a kit, just playing around with different ideas and having fun.

Hello all-

I have not had a chance to do any more mounting, but I think I have it figured out. Gotta get some brackets made though.

I also have been working on getting a different pulley set-up using a Bini aftermarket crank pulley, and only need to get a small part machined. First I need to get my ribbed belt set-up fitted.

Almost have all the parts I need to do the Bosch CIS conversion as well.

More to come!
