Hi there, I have just got myself another mini after about 10 years. The trouble is i'm having trouble finding info out about the block numbers and size (got 2 with car) anyway can anyone tell me where to find out the info?. Both blocks have 12A497. Gbox 1 = wyf 22g1832 e641, Gbox 2 = a/bz 5 bc&m 22g 1832. Head 1 = ecam 4004, not sure about other head. The car is a 74 clubman, so possibly motor in car is 998? Thanks in advance!

What are the engine numbers? As far as I know, both the 1100 and 998 blocks had the same cast number, as they are the same block! 8)

998cc(AUSSIE)had 99H and the 1100 had 10xx(something something). The cylinder head is a pollution head for 998cc

Numbers are confusing, my VIN on the mini says it is a Sunshine(ridgy didge) but would love a sunroof now the hot weather in the capital is here. However it is badged a "S" and still looking for the seam...

Hooroo

The number people are looking for is on the top of the block stamped in to the little flat section where the alternator/generator mounts on :D
