i too have an 1100 i think its time to give a little tickle to its a fairly freash engine build also
so can i use the RE13 Cam i here so much about on here in my 1100 and is it worth putting a cam, manifold and extractors on if i leave the head stock as i cant see myself spending 600 bucks on an 1100 head which on mine is actually an 998 head

yes, if you do the head, you'll have more power than a south american dictator.
it will kill stockish 1275s

Be bothered with the 12g940 head as i'm pretty sure the doc said (sorry if he didnt) a stock 12g940 head is still beatter than a fully worked 202 head and I reckon it will be heaps cheaper to pocket the block rather than working a head

If you use a 12G940 or 12G1316 head on a smallbore block with an RE 13 cam (or any other with decent lift), the ex valves WILL hit the block..
So watch it..
I'd check height from valve to head face, vs valve lift, BEFORE you bolt it on.

Pocketing the block is not a big deal. Coupla hours..... 8)

my main issue with poketing the block is
I dont want to take the engine out of the car dont kn ow if it can be done in car
i cant do myself and dont know anyone who can
am concerned about sealing *spelling* problems and headgasket issues

dont know if these are worthy concerns but they are there
also does anything change on the head i want to keep for a big bore in the future

Kazjim and I have both done them in the car.
Nothing changes at all on the head. Be sure to use a 1275 gasket, a BK450 is best.
