i bought a front sway bar at the swapmeet tday and i put it on when i got home and what a difference, the car corners so much flatter in the front, it is stiffer and doesnt bounce as much over bumps anymore. would a back one and some uprated shock help even more, also if any one has a sway bar on there could i see some pics. :)

Most would have started with a rear bar. Generally front bars are for LSD using racers, no not the drug.

I have both front and rears sway bars and Spax lowered adjustable shocks, LSD, and 1.5 neg arms too but yet to test.

was it fairly easy to fit. i am think of gettin a rear one.

yeh pretty easy only needed a couple of holes to be drilled for the centre mounts

i might get one for the rear should cost to much from Kmac at trade price.

A REAR bar will help keep the inside front wheel on the ground when cornered hard (desirable for traction).
A FRONT bar will tend to lift the inside front wheel off the deck when cornered hard. That's OK with an LSD, not so great with a stocko diff.. unless you like wheelspin... :lol:

What you are doing by putting a front sway-bar on is increasing the tendancy of the car to understeer on the limit...

It most probably did feel better. it will increase roll stiffness at the front and stop weight transfer onto the outer front wheel. It should also make it turn in sharper and reduce understeer. The reason for all this is that both front wheels see more evenly distributed load and especially with a fwd car this spreads the workload across the front more evenly. Minis have a huge weight transfer to the front wheels as soon as it turns into a corner due to its heavy front end. Two bars will tend to make it two wheel if driven hard enough. if you want to sell it I will buy it.
