Yup... gotta love the simplicity of a Moke Bonnet... two rubber catches, a clip on each side, and bobs your uncle the bonnet is removed.

Oh hang on... that means any bastard can be getting at my engine...........

yes yes it does...

My first Morris 850 had only 4 of those rubber hooks holding the bonnet on. One day I was going flat out along the highway ( thats maybe 105kmh  ), a truck passed me doing 110 in the opposite direction.... well, the turbulence it created pulled my bonnet 6 inches away from the body before it slammed back down - in that second i saw my rockercover, the underside of the bonnet, and the bitumen inbetween...... Oh did I SH*T myself!!!!

The next day I got rid of those hooks and put the original arms and catch back on.

Never again.

This is a bit OT, but it just reminded me.. Does anyone have anything (straps maybe) on the inside of their doors connected to the inside of the car. To stop the door opening all the way.. My hinges are getting worse everytime someone lets the door swing open as far as possible..

They came from the factory with door straps.....

Its basically a piece of seatbelt held under a clamp on each end. Some have funny chrome wire things there... aftermarket I think.

Yeah its easy...

There should be 2 threaded holes on the edge of the wheel arch / kick panel, and 2 holes on the inside edge of the door. There should be a chrome bracket to go over each of these pair of holes which holds the strap there.

These holes are about 6 inches above the floor.

Some people use coloured seatbelt material... to match the paint or interior colour. I'll be using red for mine

I used an old leather trouser belt for mine. Gave it a nice look and did the job.

In the boot.... a bit harder due to the space available... but nothing a brainstorming session couldnt sort out.

As for the bonnet catch, it is possible to modify the release arm to accept an internal release cable..... and remove the exposed end of the arm.
