I was looking to replace the thermostat studs as the old ones were corroded.

I noticed there's a few companies selling stainless steel studs - but I was wondering if these would react to the thermostat housing (which appears to be aluminium and therefore reacts to stainless).

Anyone had any experience with these?

A good idea. The thermostat is already stainless anyway, and I've never noticed anything worse because of them.

Another option, as many replacement studs now are weak rubbish or wrong length, is to use 5/16 UNC high tensile threaded rod and UNC nuts instead.
Works for me and a few recent friends' rebuilds.
I use Permatex aviation gasket cement on the threads before screwing them in.
