Good evening all.

I have a turbo 1100. Been on and off the road for a while. I’ve recently moved to the country so I have been able to put some kms on it.

It has always dipped revs a little when I push the clutch in but now it’s stalling.
I have adjusted the clutch in all fashions and it made little to no difference..

When I put the engine together I had to stuff around a bit to get thrust clearances correct. I cannot remember what they were but I set it up on the loose side.

I pulled the wok off and the throwout bearings fine. I will put a dial indicator on it tomorrow to confirm any free play in the crank …

I am almost certain I have u/s thrust bearings. I will
Drain the oil tomorrow and see if there is any material in it.

Can anyone throw me a Hail Mary idea before I pull the engine out?

Thanks for your help everyone

Just an update for everyone following this thread. The clutch end thrust bearings were pretty much bare metal. I’m certain this was due to the clutch over throwing from not being set correctly. I will linish the crank web put some new bearings in and we will be sweet again.

Sad ..but your diagnosis was spot on. While it is apart are you going to have a look at the syncros? ( I know further and deeper delve than you intended - but my bet would be at least one of the syncros are showing wear) Again your oil /bottom of the gearbox/ filter may tell whether to leave or not. Good travels when it is back together.

Yeah mate I will check the synchros. The cranks mint still
But I will put bearings in it and give it a polish.
It doesn’t have much wear on it but I might re-ring it and give it a hone
