Are there any useful sites that give Lucas part numbers for BMC part numbers?
Guess it would be a big book/file.

Have been chasing some Lucas bits lately as New Old Stock since they are not available as BMC/Leyland parts any longer. Traders collecting old parts tend to list the part number they find on the part or its box. Good traders might know what part fits which car but 1-off sellers clearing out sheds won't.

There are several possibliities here. The BMC Quick Reference Catalogue has many cross references for all commonly serviced parts like light globes, exhausts, filters etc, but at 400 pages, I haven't yet completed transcribing it and so a manual search would be required. The Lucas drawings often have the BMC part number or the vehicle model scribbled on them, but I have not recorded those either so a manual search would be required. There is a Unipart cross reference to OE part numbers but the Unipart numbers are things like GEX etc and not really easily converted to BMC part numbers. If you'd like to provide an example, I can see how effective a manual search might be. regards Tony

The Lucas Australia catalogue is another option. While it doesn't have a cross-reference table as you wanted it does have the Lucas part numbers.

The Mini parts books also show Lucas part numbers in many cases. This example is from the electrical section of PUB1012.

I'm happy to help cross-reference if you can list the items in question.

Thanks for the responses and offers to find part numbers. It seems that it would be a huge, labour-intensive effort to search out these numbers, even if you have the correct catalogues.

The question that started me off this time was fixing a newish Lucas M35G starter motor that was jamming. Thought it just needed cleaning but found the pinion gear on it was 10 tooth. Got a 9 tooth pinion from Tony Buttergieg, then thought about a new set of brushes for the future - but they are NLA as mini parts.

Then thought about a bush set (front and rear), but they are getting scares, too. BMC numbers for the bushes are 47H5340 and 47H5346 but I don't know the Lucas part numbers to search NOS listings.

The information in the image above is incomplete/inaccurate, based upon my knowledge. In particular, the section on windscreen wipers does not reflect the changeover in Apr 1968, in respect of the motors and the outer casings. My DR3A motor of 10/67 is 62671016D and my 12AUW one of 4/68 is 62971023A.

As are many of the BMC documents. They need to be reviewed together to get an accurate picture.

In the case of Lucas there are other documents with corrections and supersessions.

I used Tony Cripps' suggested bush & brush set No. of 587 660 661 in a web search and came up with this Wood Auto page (not permitted to post a screen view):

https://www.woodauto.com/bom/BOMToPDF/76896

The brush set is 587 and the bushes are 660 and 661 - all look like the mini ones.

The BMC parts book is more accurate for those items.
