Hi everyone. What are the colours used when painting suspension components? I was going to paint them black but wanted to be certain this was acceptable for a 1963austin van.
Cheers

Thought you would have an answer by now. My minis are mid to late '60s so I assume the earlier minis were the same - satin (semi-gloss) black for subframes, arms, shafts and all sorts of those little brackets and plates, plus radiator and cowlings etc.

Ben - I think it was the Austin Van that made people reluctant to comment and advise you. Being an Australian based forum most of the knowledge is about the local product. Imported Minis like yours may have been a different colour in some spots.

There is a helpful UK based forum that mainly deals with early minis, they’d have a good idea on the UK built cars.

There is also a book that you might find helpful
