The vehicle has wind up windows. I stripped the paint back to the metal and there was no other colour under the top coat which was BRG with a white roof, which is not a Deluxe colour I believe!! . There are none of the tabs in the boot for the second tank nor the bracket for an oil cooler. It does not have any visible numbers behind the master cylinders however it was about the rustiest part of the car due to a large rats nest! The mystery continues!!!
Just a few photos of the other things to check over.
Your car wont have the tabs on the drivers side to hold the breather hose. They came in at around car 2300. Your car should have 2 holes in the same spot.

They fitted metal clips into these holes at approx car 1000 - 1100.

The electric fuel pump has a vent piped into the cabin. A plastic rivet can be seen under the rear seat - passenger side.

The heater J brackets are another thing to check. They are spotwelded in 3 spots each.

As mentioned before the early MK1 S had a vertical support brace for the slam panel. The oil cooler was a 9 row and it was bolted up to the engine. The change to 13 row oil cooler and an angled brace was car 1344.
