Does anyone know whether auto bleeders are legal in Oz?? Brilliant idea but we do live in a Nanny State/Country

PS and how about that adjustable proportioning valve  Fine tune your fore and aft braking performance 8)

I don't see why the bleeders would be illegal, when tightened after bleeding they seal in exactly the same way as a normal one. Proportioning valve I believe is fine so long as it cannot be adjusted by the driver from inside the car.

I have an adjustable proportion valve in my car, passed a roadworthy with no comment on it other than needing the fittings on it tightened.
I believe they are okay as long as they are fitted in such a way that they cant be adjusted whilst driving.

Cheers guys...to clarify, it was mainly the auto bleeders that I was concerned about for registration...a swaged union is a lot simpler than one with a one way valve in it. As for the proportioning valve...I meant fine tune by trial and error NOT whilst underway  :D

Allegedly it's illegal to have it on road cars here. No sorry, I can't quote chapter and verse.

I couldn't find the tongue-in-cheek emoji ;)

If you really want to, just go to your local motor registry, tell them what you want to do and ask to see the appropriate regulations. Asking them if it OK is a waste of time....

Cheers, Ian
