It is a pity some things just arent available in original form and yes that panel fits really well and the guy is doing a good job.I have seen some really shoddy work out of some modern panel shops.

The correct Mk1/2 front panels are still being manufactured and are available from a number of suppliers , Somerford Mini in UK have quite a range of body panels , as have a few Aussie suppliers as well :D

if you look closely at the front panel the only difference is the number plate bracket, bonnet lock area same as original no hole for vent LH side. I have looked at the UK websites there is no front panel identical to an Australian model is you think there is please let me know. Mini kingdom agree.

They may not be exactly the same , but pretty damn close , a lot closer match than the Heritage panels that most suppliers try to sell you .I bought a Mk1 apron panel from M-Machine a few years back and its pretty much identical to the original .

There is 2 types of number plate mount brackets positions as there is 2 different lengths

M ,machine have informed me there front panels are different than the Australian Minis and as far as they know the Australian front panels have not been available for a long time, you have to modify a UK panel

Good to be properly informed.I know my sills are wrong and dont care The rover sills are by far superior but not original.Do I care NO Would I rather patched old original sills waiting to break out again A big NO.If you are happy thats good but know what you are getting and thats a common problem nowadays .Beware of snake oil and chinese crap. :wink:Hence my clutch issue that wont happen thanks to the Doc
