Very nice.
This one is 2706 (has 2701 on the radiator panel... any clus as to why these numbers might be different?)

Very rough and a tonne of work.
Battery box rusted and boot floor pushed in.
Front guards replaced over the existing (poor join in 'gutter').
Bogged up where things don't line up.

Has Leyland seats, no headlining, heaps of other missing bits.
A 'basket case' by definition but good for someone with far too much money to take on at the 5k asking price

Ben may be looking to offload YKA2S1 2706 if anyone wants a Black Cooper. On the Aussie Cooper FB page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/8460462 ... 443413777/

In 1963 I saw a new black 997 Cooper with red interior drive past me. That experience set me on the road to buy a Cooper almost immediately then continue to buy and or build more than 50 Cooper and S variants over the years. Competing in State, National and International Rallies. I am sure you all would agree they are the most exhillerating cars to drive and own. My cousin purchased a black 850 new in 1964. I have a friend who has a black 850 fully rebuilt. I have not seen very many over the years.

When I was at trade school back in the 60's one of the guys there had a Black 997 Cooper, it had been modified to a convertible, not sure why they had cut the top off, might have been in an accident, sort of looked ok, bit ugly with he top up though.
