Engine number is 9YA/TA/H 34286.

This engine comes out of a deluxe, but it doesn't match the original compliance plate details. It has been converted to run on unleaded petrol. ( well that's what I was told and was running)

Sorry. Just googled ECAM 4004 and answered my own question. ECAM 4004 is a pollution/smog head for the 998.

Time to find something better.

They port as well as a 202 head does, just more Detroit Wonder Metal needs to be removed. :)

Because that was all BMC deemed necessary to do the job, and for that engine and state of tune they are correct.

These particular Australian head bolts are prone to snap from old age. I prefer to fit studs and nuts.
