A real bit of history. Put a sheet of glass on it, use it as coffee table in the pool room.

Maybe to clear the front subframe rail most times they used the front subframe in the rear

I suppose, when you think of it, it is a British idea........the poms don't do simple.
I did a rod change box conversion..... years ago now. Worked a treat and simple.
