Off the pedal, open nipple, push down only once on pedal, close nipple before getting off the pedal again. Don't pump the pedal several times while the bleed nipple is open, this is how air gets sucked back into the bleed nipple via the screw thread itself.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that's the only way I know how to bleed brakes, especially drums.

Yep...except its more about applying constant pressure to the pedal rather than pushing once :D

Yeah that's what I meant...

Off the pedal, open nipple, apply constant pressure on pedal, close nipple before getting off the pedal again. Don't pump pedal while nipple is open

Okay. Sounds like a plan. :)
We had a rest day today (due to stress related issues).
Try again tomorrow.

Thank you

Eiles

Hi Jim

Alas, work has got in the way for the time being but it's a good chance to save up the funds for some purchases. I've got a week off in October so will have another good go then. I might end up having to replace the MC and Proportion valve which is not a bad thing seeing as I want the Clubby to survive as an every-day driver. If the funds stretch that far, I might even put discs on the front!

Let me know if you solve the problem at your end first! :)

Eiles

Hi Eiles. My problem is I have to pump the pedal (one very quick pump) to get a high pedal... I suspect air still in the system. It has brand new brake booster and overhauled front calipers and new rear slave cylinders.

I was going to use my vacuum bleeder today, but a bad chest cold has put that to an end. Maybe Friday or Saturday.

Jim :)

Edit: And yes the rear brakes are fully adjusted.

Edit 2: Not to take over this thread, I've moved my own findings to this post http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=93760

Thanks guys.
It's a big relief as it was the only issue that needed sorting before clubby goes over the pits.
Fingers crossed.
