Hi all, just a quick question, can an A+ Camshaft be used in an A series engine. Cheers.

Yes no problem, use with 1275A+ slot drive oil pump.
Use 998A+ pump for small bore motors.

Is the dizzy gear on the A+ cam the same as the A Kevin, Guy here in the UK says there not interchangeable. He has a few std A plus wide lobe cams for 15 pounds each. Cheers

Drive gear on cam is the same.
I recently put an A+ cam in a 998 A series, no problem. GR reground it to an RE266SS.
I think all A+ cams are wide lobe/slot drive? Anyhow this one was.

[edit] 15 quid is cheap, all wide lobe stock cams are getting scarce in Oz now. Bring a few in, they'll sell easy.

What are the benefits of running a wide lobe cam in a small bore engine, if any ?

Probably a little less cam lobe wear.
