It would seem that the Cooper S's are indeed increasing in price

This one has been tentatively sold to a party in the UK for $A43,000. If the sale falls through, I believe an offer of $36,000 has been made, sight unseen, from someone in Sydney.

Originally it was £26500 / $54000. I like that it has the original passport to service.

I must admit it looks better in the pictures than in the metal.

Interior is mostly original, but interior really should have been painted, quite a few scratches in the interior paint. Look closely at the door pockets, the card/material is torn and crumpled. The boot area is as original, but knocked about a bit, to be expected.

Under the bonnet is mostly original, but could do with a freshen up.

Outside is really good, with good panel fit.

This one, in my opinion, is worth about $26,000 - $30,000.

But, it is indicative of the increasing prices of good Cooper S's.

John

I don't mind the prices going up. My car only owes me $5000 and I am not in the market to buy another.

I had someone from Condoblyn NSW offer me a Mk1 Cooper S for $12k all in pieces and no original engine. He words were that in the two months since he acquired it he has learnt a lot about Cooper Esses and knows heaps about them!!!!! It is a rusted out body like has been out to pasture for the last 30 years with no paint left on body! inside looks like rats or wombats lived in it. He wasn't even embarrassed to send me pictures. I just wished him luck.
