Post subject:  how to check conrods for straightness

Hi All,
Reading some of GR's articles and would like to know if anyone has any more info on checking and straightening smallbore conrods. GR had mad a jig for checking but I can't figure out the ins and outs of how it works. Also planning to machine some of the sides of the big ends to lighten and balance the rods.
Cheers

I have used that jig of Graham's many times. It's a precision setup.
The distance is measured as shown then the rod and pins assembly flipped over and measured again.
Twist is apparent if the assembly can be rocked on the 2 fixed blades underneath.
If bent, he has a Vee jig used in the vyce.

Just send your rods to Graham...;)
