Post subject:  custom fuel tanks

any one know the guidelines with fitting a custom made fuel tank in the back of a clubman van. i was think two tanks one eitherside long the sides over the wheel arches or around them. questions comments answers all welcome . p.s my original tank bit rusty around seam and not big enough capacity for the turbo clubby.

Why put it inside? There is a huge area in vans in front of the rear subframe, just made for fuel tanks i reckon Keeps your centre of gravity nice and low too...

That's where mini is going on my van. Nice simple square shape too as well.

Where does your exhaust go now? Right under the tank.

Use a heat shield if it concerns you....

You mean "brushed aluminium". Not a big fan of that. Made another tank before ex-floor plate (chequer plate) for a Hilux - looked good. Ali will only stay shiny if you put a coat of laquer over the top. Just bought polishing wheels & compounds & tried 'em out over the weekend - will post pics later :)

Oh, and Chris I did say "NA Subaru Impreza EJ20"
that means it's normally aspirated 2L 16V quad cam boxer 4cyl subie
