So let me get this right you want to put a morris engine into the clubbie and clubbie engine in the morris but want to put the morris back onto old school rubber uni's ............. If this is the case then it is easy wouldn't you just put the uni's on the same way for each case aren't they the same????? Doc?

nah....i want to put the clubbie motor in the morris van (as it has a spun bearing!),

i figure the hardy spicer ballbearing unis are better????

so how would i retain them? do i swap drive shafts?

Back to rubber joints... oh why....
Lobby I think you are confusing Hardy Spicer U/Js (Cooper S & `matic), they look like normal car type unis- and pot joints (all Clubbies from `74 on)
If pot joints now, you need to swap the diff output shafts with the joints as they are different. Driveshafts too, they are different lengths & splines at inner end..

If Hardy Spicer (S joints) now, the driveshafts are interchangeable with the rubber type ones. But as well as swapping the diff output shafts you would need to swap side covers too, S seals are 1/8" bigger..

Confused??? :?

the joints on the motor atm,,,,i guess are the pot joint and they have big ball bearing's in side them, and a rubber boot on the driveshaft covering them, ....these are the one's i want to keep,

still confused,

I DONT WANT TO KEEP THE ORIGINAL RUBBER X UNIS (to clear it up...)

OK then- if you want to keep them you need to keep the driveshafts too, and the diff (or its output shafts).

Um... Meeni, a 78 is a Clubbie so has Clubbie (pot joint) drive shafts.
As Pauline would say, "please explain". Do you mean the 850-Deluxe-K- early Clubbie ones then... with the old rubber joints? These are getting harder to find now and don't last `forever' like pot joints do.

They ARE pot joints, which is what Lobby has and has new decided to keep.

Dunno why they call 'em `pot' joints, don't smell like grass to me.. 8)
