The engine I want to throw in a mini would come out of a Smart Roadster.
3 cyl, 600cc turbo, with 6-speed. Only uses 4L per 100km too.

I like big bore NA, because I've got a few running... and I don't have a degree in rocket science! 8)

Why bother? they make 60Kw(80HP) and only manage 11sec for the 0-100 sprint, my 1152 kills all the smart cars...

Hey Tk who are you getting your south african cranks form now as they are getting scarce over there now?

big bore motors are so easy to do, you can spend a fortune on a small bore motor to get it to run but then it gets unrelaible and is not worth the hassle, throw the same amount of money at a 1275 motor and it will blow you away with what is possible.
the last 1275 i built has 103ftlbs of torque at the wheels at 3400rpm and 68bhp at the wheels and i still wasnt happy with the way it was running and it hadnt been dynoed either just set up in my workshop and a bit of luck i suppose.
