So i'm thinking of doing the supercharger kit... just gotta explore my avenues thoroughly before i commit to anything. Will running 4/5psi boost do much harm on my 1100? It has mild cam, some head work, 40 thou overbore. I don't think using boost as low as this will require me to fit a main strap to the bottom end, will it? My compression is around the 160-180 mark in each of the cylinders, and does not fluctuate any more than 10% between them, which i have been told is a good sign. So anyone have any thoughts or anything? All info greatly appreciated. Big willy. |

5psi in a 1098 = no problem, IMO. Centre straps are over rated, IMO. Ask TheMiniMan, or Graham Russell, they'll agree. |

Would 6 psi be getting a little bit too high for a standard compression 1098? |

No. 1275 Metro Turbo had 9.4:1 C/R, ran 7psi? I think. Stocko C/R in a 1098 was 8.5:1. |

Don't push it too hard, unless the motor has been built for this sort of abuse... ![]() Like with decent pistons etc. |

Kev, Wil, the Metro had a funky "Pressure Modulator" unit... it DID run 7Psi, BUT only over 4500RPM.. under that it was locked to 4Psi ... Factory warranty stuff ... I'd limit to 7ish unless you are doing something serious about the inlet temps... - Personally i run up to 15Psi (8:1 ish) but need to control inlet temps a bit better.... adding a cooler soon... Oh and probably water injection too .... then we are going for a few more PSI ..... Good luck Wil J |

Good luck finding an SC12. I have a rebuilt 1275, SC Kit and my shell is getting sprayed pretty soon but I'll be damned if I can get my hands on an SC12. |
