Post subject:  MG Metro Engine

Im still quite curious about these MG Metro engines. They seem like the best option to start with. So ive got a few more questions.

1) Do all mounts fit exactly as the mini engine did?
2) What are the diff and gear ratios like?
3) Is the MG Metro engine as strong as the MG Metro Turbo engine?
4) Does anyone know a way of getting either one of these? (i.e via x company)
5) Are all/most parts interchangable with mini performance bits? (i.e cam)

Any help would be muchly appreciated.
Thanks :)

hey m8 mg metro motor ( im assuming you mean A series metro) will bolt straight in using mini engine mounts, metro motor isnt as strong as metro turbo, diff ratios are for 12/12 in rims so should be fine unless u run 10in rims ( which means cooper S discs  ) thisnt common knowledge but metros were forsale in new zeland so you would be better off to contaca a new zeland mini club and go from there :)

hi M gearboxes are seen to be more forgiving than aussie ones, diff ratios vary from 2.9 up to 3.7 however 3.44 seems to be the most common ie:cooper s ratio
pm me if you want one as next shipment arrives in 6 weeks time have 5 left also will be getting a few NEW OLD STOCK A+ gearboxes not remanufactured ones will be about $700 mark depending on dollar
