![]() Umm a Little Large.... SBR-GT14 This turbo has the largest compressor wheel available in the GT30 family. It is often reffered to as the GT 30/40 and will be a killer 1/4 mile turbo for those brave enough to run it. Capable of flowing enough air for 600HP! From TurboGarage.com J |

nah james that is a different turbo to what ben is talking about. There are garrett gt14's out there found on turbo diesel vans, some saabs and some citreons.... It is very similar to a T2 but has a roller bearing centre and is one of the new type of garrets. They will push 14psi all day and spool up at 1500rpm on a 1.6L engine. They are also used alot on motor bikes in aftermarket turbo kits. On a hot 1275cc motor i would be looking at the GT17, slighty bigger turbine but will spool very early and will take 16-18psi,, these are found on the 9-5 saabs from 98 on. I had one on mine but it was rooted. Make sure if you find one that it hasnt got the seals gone as 50% of the ones fitted to the saabs got taken of on there first service due to there oil return system they had,,, basically they were blowing there seals out after 10 000kms. Both these turbos use T2 flange... But some gt14s that came out on the turbo diesels had a different flange. |

that is a gt17 by the look of it.... If second hand i would be very wary of it..... As i said most have had there oil seals blow out. You will know as soon as you fit it,, it will blow heaps of smoke. Make sure you know the history of it, if they say they dont know i would be 99% sure it was one of the ones taken of the saabs. There have been heaps sold and most around the $150-$200 mark... $800 to fix it ![]() |
