Hi my 1310 is need of a rebuild its getting bad oil pressure would you supercharge it or not bother? 1310 with a webber goes quite well at the moment are these sc12 supercharges reliable on the car? so while its in pieces is these anything that I can put in the motor to make it stronger Or just rebuild it as is Its in a roundy van also Thanks Mitch |

Hi Mitchell 1310 with a supercharger ![]() This is the setup that I was going to run in my 850 so have all the info needed as far as building it up, it comes down to how much you want to spend on the rebuild..... However you can just do a 'std' rebuild (allowing for correct compression ratio for supercharger) and pop the supercharger kit on top of the engine so to speak. or you can go all out with wedged or forged crank h beam rods race pistons and rings steel main caps lightened flywheel and backplate ported head big valves 1.5 rockers RE13T cam Straight cut box Straight cut drops LSD etc again just depends on budget and how much power you want Vs reliability. I am sure you will get plenty of comments about it on here. ![]() |

It's a 40% more power at the wheels "bolt on" - that's what mine went from on the dyno - a bit over 60hp atw to a bit under 90 mitchell evans wrote: are these sc12 supercharges reliable on the car?
Depends what you mean by reliable and depends on what you do with it - there will be teething issues, but reliability doesn't take a huge hit. I am about to rebuild mine after 25,000ks of daily driving and doing a motorkhana once a month... |

Yep they fit nicely A user on here '92' makes all you need to fit the sc12 if you don't want to try and make your own kit. It's well made and a proven product. You still need your own carby etc though. |

There's two or three cars in the SDMC with SC12's fitted Mitchell. . .Adrian Vernon has one on his car (1275 round nose), Kim Barnard has one on her Clubby van (1330, I think) and I have one on my Moke (bog stock 998). I'm sure any of them/us would be happy for you to have a look if you want to see how it's all set up before you go ahead. . . |

I'd agree on the clutch but as for the rest of it, I'd say the most important 'must haves' are correct fuelling and limiting total ignition advance. The 998 in my Moke is completely standard apart from a set of extractors and a Pertronix igniter and I've been hammering it fairly hard with a SC12 for almost 5 years now. It still has 75psi running oil pressure and 140psi compression in each cylinder. Maybe I've just been lucky though. . . |
