Came across this Mitsubishi Magna 2.4L inlet manifold and throttle body and surprisingly the port centers are 75mm same as my 8v BMW K100 head. I don't have time to type so I'll let the pics do the talking. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Measurements; -BMW port 33mm -Magna port 47mm 14mm difference in diameter -Port centers 75mm -TB 62mm to 63mm distance from magna manifold face to square edge of chamber 185mm (+10mm for TB) but that dose shoot the IM down affecting alternator and dizzy. Still could be good for Clubman Turbo conversions... |

Personally i don't think it's of any use kenno. First of all you have 4 pipes big enough to feed 2.4 litres going into 1.3. Then all that air is going to smack straight into the face of the cylinder head because the hole is soo much bigger then the port. Then what about the injectors? unless you plan on sucking through a carb instead of the throttle body. I think the runners are also WAY to long even for a clubman. Nice find, but i don't think it's going to get you anywhere. You should really talk to TheMiniMan about his latest plenum chambers. They are really quite simple and easy enough to make. |

My idea was to use it as a base then modify the runners to reduce down to the BMW port and a custom made IM port face. The idea was to save a bit of time making the whole thing seeing as this is already made, runners just needs to be cut to length and or the mounting face made to reduce the ports down to the BMW size. like a funnel not just a plate welded to the end of the Magna ports, that's just a terrible design. It would use the std Magna TB IM and the throttle cable bolts to the IM so simply shorten the other end to connect to the mini pedal, it's a decent design and IMO only needs some basic mods to be usable on a single carby, forced induction or with a correctly moded mounting face you could use the std BMW injectors and EFI it. The std size of it lends itself more to a Clubman but could be shortened to fit in a roundnose engine bay. This is what I have made so far for my own setup; ![]() ![]() For now I'll stick with my own creation but it still need a heap of work and has taken a fair bit of time just to get where I am now. |
