Hi everyone. I have a friend who has offered to sell me his newly machined thick ended 850 crank he no longer needs. My question is, will this fit into the block of an 850 that originally had a narrow ended crankshaft or would machining be required? I guess a few parts would need to be swapped such as flywheel etc. thanks |

It drops straight in. You then use the same flywheel and primary gear as a 998/1098, not the old 850 ones (which are both too small in the bore). |

You are thinking of the old wet tail crank's lube hole for the primary gear bush? Nope, the thick tail 850 crank came out when they went to dry primary gear bushes. it's exact same tail as a 998 or 1098. |
