Anyone knows how to go about removing the four seam covers? |

They are held on with small steel clips, so basically all you can do is lever them carefully off with screwdrivers., making sure you dont scratch the paint or dent the car. A major problem with these steel clips is that when you put them on, the little barbs scratch away the paint, meaning it rusts underneath the seam cover. A good trick is to use some RTV or other adhesive to glue them on - this way they wont rust from the inside, and its much easier to get them off next time. |

Another issue to watch for is to make sure a previous owner hasn't braized them by tacking them at any stage along the seam - I've seen this done and it is a pain to remove them. KB |

![]() The side cover strips were factory brazed at the top and bottom in addition to the clips. Regards RonR |

Any idea where clips are? They come off quite easy, once you `unbraze' the ends.. ![]() Clips are just spread along its length. Last time I did it I used Sikaflex 291 instead of clips. It's a 1 part polyurethane sealer, paintable, and stays flexible.. No need to braze them on either! ![]() |
