We shall compile a list of all the size spanners that you need to work on your pride and joi.

What sizes do we need? and what are they used for

after this (spam free) thread is sufficiently long, i'll compile it into a list for the mods forum and we can make it all sticky and that..
The idea is To have a list such as..

You can buy a specially made brake bleeder tool if that helps. I just use a 1/4" as well however it's not really the "correct" tool.

Why don't you just invest in a metric/imperial Sydchrome 1/4" set? It's all I've ever needed. If you intend to undo the wheel hub nut or steering wheel hub nut then you will need more than just sockets... Breaker bars and alot of swearing comes to mind

Great idea, if it's a toolkit you're building don't forget the Torque wrench

Starting tool:

High Pressure steam cleaner or Kero air gun

Man, my 72 clubman was gleamed after 2 washes and all the spanners held the bolt heads and nuts. I could grease it and tell when the brgs were packed.

Trust me a good wash saves skin on the knuckles, exposes grease nipples, makes the carby gleam, uncovers F$%ked rubber bushes, polishes up the master cylinders and doesnt leave finger prints on the wife by the next morning hehe

PS You'll also make a quid with the locals getting their cars, houses, driveways cleaned

(PPS Dont use on the Wife or you may have another mini for a long time!)

Putting things together- MIG welder
Taking 'em apart- angle grinders.. I have 4!
