Post subject:  7 port injection

Hi everyone,

just wondering if anyone has some info on what set up they used for injecting a 7 port? I currently run twin 40mm webers but plan to change to injection later this year and trying to decide which avenue to go down for throttle bodies etc so hoping someone may have done similar before and found something that works relatively easy.

been talking to a guy in the UK who runs a 7 port injected turbo which would be a fun idea but want to get the injection sorted first. he used GSXR throttle bodies but what has anyone else tried?

I want to make it fully programmable so can be easily connected to a lap top for diagnosing tuning etc.

any help would be appreciated.

cheers

I don't believe anyone in australia has actually done it, but Mokesta is planning it - http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=73037

MED have a kit - but 2800 pounds, PLUS the head

Megasquirt 3 is the ECU to use, cheap and extremely capable but requires DIY and some brains ;)

thanks Simon, i had a look at the link and it seems they have their own issues to sort through but i did see a link to Jenvey throttle bodies (DCOE replacement) which come in different lengths so this may be a step in the right direction, no need to change any inlets (which in my case are cast into the head).

i have heard a few talk about the megasquirt system now so more head scratching research ahead.

thanks again

If you have a clubman then just a pair of weber replacement throttle bodies, the required sensors and and efi system and you are away. No problems.

If you have a roundy then it's a different story but thin replacement throttle bodies and a pancake filter will work.

If you want long intake runners for low-mid torque then you have to get creative.
