You could try and carefully lever it off but be carefully not to damage the timing cover
Alternatively try a pulley remover, but not sure you have the space for this to fit?

A 2 leg puller will work if you put a jack under the motor, then remove the engine mount & its bracket.

I just noticed! That looks like an easy way to get to the speedo cable, but I guess that is not what you were thinking :?

Hello,
would you mind disclosing the brand name of the pulley/damper that failed? Thanks.

Looks to be the standard pressed tin type used on 998s. Very easy to damage trying to get off. I had something similar when rebuilt to a 1185 but went to the 1275 type dampner.

undo the bolt and warm the hub up with a oxy, then give it a tap to loosen it

It should be just a slide on fit, 2 screwdrivers will get that off.
You won't do it any more damage...
