Hi All,

Does anyone know of a good panel beater/spray painters in Brisbane that are
conversant with Mini's? :?

Last thing I want to do is send it to someone who's a back-yarder if you know what I
mean. Anyone have anybody that they can recommend. Must be able to do top quality
sray-ups and body mods.

Regards,
Andrew

the only sound advice i can offer is not to go to anyone on the redcliffe peninsula. with the exceptions of my exhaust system and some small auto-electrical stuff, ever other piece of work done in that area has been either botched, overpriced, or caused problems elsewhere. that goes for body work, electrical, or mechanical.

Nermil,

Thanks for the intel - that rules out Redcliffe etc
Anybody else. I have heard that the "Bump Shop" at New farm is supposed to be good.
Anybody else?

Cheers,
Andrew

Andrew,

Come check out my car. Dawson Automotive at Tingalpa painted it and the panel work was done by a mob on Lytton Rd at Bulimba.

I CANNOT recommend Dawson Automotive highly enough. The are very passionate about their quality of work and have a very sound background with historics.

JC

Hey thanks John,

Yeah lets get together. I have had numerous horror stories from guys who took their cars to "reliable" panel beaters only to lay down a lot of cash for work that was equal to a bunch of kids at kindy. Actually, the guy you met at the Muster, Tony, has a friend who is one of them. Paid about $2-3K for a panel and spray job and it turned out full of bog (i.e. no panel beating at all just a lot of filling, and poor filling at that!) with the paint work looking like they threw a bucket of paint over it.

Lets meet up and chew the fat!

Andrew

I don't know if you saw it in the members gallery but he's a quick glimpse. I don't know if you can really see it's deseamed in this one.

I can second that call on John Dawsons work. Jonny is the only person I trust to do any panel work on any of my cars. I have recommended him to many others and all have raved about his work. Not cheap but damn good.

Fuzzy,

Thanks man - interesting story! I like the bit about the common biond b/w him and hi father that "meant more than money" - great stuff.

Well, I'm off to Dawsons then.

Cheerio,
Andrew
