Would one of these be ok on a 1100? It is off of a Fiat 124. Also what does the C stand for and are the manifolds for these easy to find? ( don't what to mod fire wall ) Thanks Pete |

The manifold I bought off makka was a warneford - nice bit of kit and fits a '40 no probs at all. The jetting may need to be looked at as the 124 fiats had the 7772.10 emulsion tubes and a 240(!)air corrector on each. Jetting will have to be sussed as will the accellerator pump jets(start with 40's and go up) as will the chokes(32-34mm). I have come into posession of a DHLA 40(no letter after ) and just finished rebuilding it with 190 air correctors, 7772.7 emulsions, 65 main jets, 45 accel pump jets and 32 mm chokes and going to instal it on the week-end to give it a larrop - I have no life!!! DHLA40C probably came off an Alfetta GTV originally.  Yes they work in a Mini- Mini Mad is running one on his 1152 motor.
C is just a code- signifies it is a late emission type carb. Not as desirable for racing use, supposedly- but works OK. It has the same flange as a Weber DCOE. Manifolds are still available- Redline 3005 is commonly used. Will just fit in with a Ramflo filter on, without any cutting. <edit> Short Warneford manifold is the same as the 3005. |

The 40's are good on the 1100 as the choke size will be under max anyway. I suggest taking it to a carby place to get set up as they have heaps of jets, chokes and linkages etc etc to get it right. Unfortunatly no 2 engines are the same and following someone else will leave you with a setup with flat spots and/or over fueling. My 1100 uses a dellorto dlha40 running civic dizzy, cooperMG head, mild cam and 3 to 1 extractors. It's a Torque master and you can cruz all day not getting tired changing gears! |

Delly 40 on a 100 is no problem's it gust neeedsto be set up corectly... Hints above will get you close bt a good Mini Dyno will get it running better
I use Shite i Can't rember thier name ...but they are in girrawen in Syd on Amex Road not fare from my place..I'll find fier name for you or other wise cheack out the post regarding to dyno day about two onths back..with pic's...about 18 of us  Gallery

Pete Chokes are a bit hard to get, but jets are available from Carburettor Service Co in Burwood. I brought chokes etc in from www.dellorto.co.uk There is also an agent here, I've not used them- Veloce Italia, email is [email protected]
For service kits, PM `MiniK' he can get Oz made ones cheap!

I am looking at maybe offloading the DHLA 40 non-emmission carb shortly - will let you know when and will offer it here before anywhere else. It is completely rebuilt and ready to go(minus linkage kit). Keen to run it up on the car first though to see if it works good and proper first(gotta have a play!!!) BTW Doc, I am impressed by the guys at Dellorto.co.uk and have ordered some stuff from them(covers, venturis, chokes and Accellerator pumps). It's all been said already... I love my dellorto  ...power delivery is much meatier....you gotta love the sound and when set up right they are quite torquey...
