Ive been working on this for about two months now and thought i would post some photos of it and see what you all think. I tried to get link automotive to make me one off theses but the guy who makes them just dosent have the time plus they wanted around $400 for one. So i built my own and it only cost me $110.00 I used a ram flow pod filter to get my base shape witch was $60.00 and to build just the pod was only $110.00 my cost jumped quite high when i got the stainless pipping made up but if you diddnt want to do this you could just use the black plastic pipping everyone else uses. and the silacone joiners were costly too. All I need now is a small pod filter witch will fit down the front of the car but for now im just using a a small sock filter. <img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/minifreak1/briens%20cold%20air%20induction%20kit%20for%20a%20mini/airpodfirststagewithmetalgrillandpollypirehotmeltedon1.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> <img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/minifreak1/briens%20cold%20air%20induction%20kit%20for%20a%20mini/airpodwithmaterialcoating.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> <img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/minifreak1/briens%20cold%20air%20induction%20kit%20for%20a%20mini/cutomairpodwithfiberglasscoating003.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> <img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/minifreak1/briens%20cold%20air%20induction%20kit%20for%20a%20mini/finishedairboxwithrubbersealpaintedingreymatelicpearl.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> <img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/minifreak1/briens%20cold%20air%20induction%20kit%20for%20a%20mini/coldairinductionpippingforcoldairbox001.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> <img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/minifreak1/briens%20cold%20air%20induction%20kit%20for%20a%20mini/customairboxonwebber004.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> <img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/minifreak1/briens%20cold%20air%20induction%20kit%20for%20a%20mini/coldairinductionkitonmini003.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> <img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/minifreak1/briens%20cold%20air%20induction%20kit%20for%20a%20mini/coldairinductionkitonmini002.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> |

would not know unles i got it dynoed with it on and then with it off. its running better, its quitier, and im getting more miles per tank too goes much better now at night as shes getting nice cold air instead of hot air from the extractors. plus it looks ok i think.nice improvement to the engine bay. |

im quite very impressed with your work. it looks like you got your pvc pipe, and filter housing put them in a sock and layered metal over it (pic four) is this how you did it "runs quieter" now im not sure if some of our weber boys want quieter |

Now that is impressive..... i can see the naysayers lining up after the imfamous "cold air intake" thread ![]() Once again, very impressive. If i can right the wrongs that have occured to Slidey in the last few days, and money improves, i'm in like flynn ![]() |
