Finally bit the bullet and spent some bucks. Had the shits with not being able to get my handbrake to lock in Motorkhanas (or at all really!) and got a hydraulic nahdbrake fitted.

 <---------- This is me now

Very VERY well !!!!

Ha ha aha hahahaha I kill me

It is completely seperate to my normal handbrake - car looks a bit funny with two handbrake levers!!

the second lever actuates a seperate master cylinder which acts only on the rear brakes.

The improvement is nothing short of phenomenal. I had actually ripped the handbrake off the floor twice trying to use the old handbrake if that gives an idea how hard i was ripping the handle up - and it still hardly ever worked!! Now i just touch it and they lock - at ANY speed on ANY surface!! And I have fairly wide 12inch wheels too!!

$480 drive in drive out same day.

No carpets at the moment - rather get the mechanics and general body right before i get too carried away with the interior.

I might take some piccies later this week.
I guess I'm proud that I have a mod that not many others on here probably have!!!
It's my first major spend on something that wasn't a repair so i'm quite happy 8)

Nice...i'm guessing it's a fly off handbrake?

Get some pics, is it another mini handbrake? or a custom job.. One like on the rally cars that goes | rather than _ would be cool...

Have you looked into the legality bob?

This is on my list..but way down :D

My stocky handbrake had a fly-off mode - was a hole drilled in the base to put a split pin through to hold the ratchet from grabbing. Worked a treat, unfortunately the actual handbrake didn't work at all!!!!!

can you get your original handbrake removed and get a hydraulic one instead? is that legal? cause mine does absolutly NOTHING at the moment.
