Guys, is there such a kit, or do you have to buy the components separatly and make the linkages from scratch......... i have just returned from a business that stock Weber carbs, and the guy at the counter looked at me very strange when i asked for a "Linkage Kit" to suit a 45DCOE.....

Also, is there anyone out there that can point me in the right direction as to what i will require to set a 45DCOE up???

THere are such kits but it won't be cheap. I think Lynx australia sells a kit.

Where are you getting your webber from? if it's second hand try to get one with a kit else it's another $100 or so needed to spend...

What manifold are you planning to run?

You could also try Hardiman Auto Supplies in Milperra, Sydney. They stock the redline range and I think have a linkage kit too. They'll take an order over the phone and courier it up to you. But I'm sure you could order it from Brissie elsewhere?

Have not even seen the Weber yet, picking it up on Saturday morning......... the previous owner was running it on a 1310 Cooper S without firewall mods, so i assume it's a short (like a 3005?) type of manifold........

Well pay abit extra and ask for the linkage kit too! $100 vs maybe $20 if you sweet talk him nicely

Make sure it aint the swan neck type... the 3005 is good though.

Yeah don't actually know if there is a linkage kit with the 45....... but i assume there will be, i was just curious as to whether there is a "kit" available as the guy said there is no such thing, and i couldn't be bothered argueing with him

cheers gafmo.

back on topic - as far as i know the linkages come with the manifold. the purpose of the linkage is to direct the cable motion in the right orientation.

There are several types of linkage kit:

Race ones that have dual return springs etc and can cost heaps.

Lynx or Redline ones thay run a cross shaft above the manifold on Rose joints, with a ball ended rod down to the carb. I think the Redline one costs around $100.

`Quick & dirty' home made ones where the cable just goes direct onto the carb's throttle lever and the cable achor is on the rocker cover.
