http://www.adelaidejap.com.au/accessories.htm This is Adelaide Jap - they seem to have a constant supply of Ex-Japanese Blowers... SC12, SC-14 some more "oddball" ones, as well... seems the maximum price is about $350 ..... fabricate a 2" inlet tube - mount a 2" SU on the intake side, Modify a Twin 1 1/2 intake to mount the blower onto (I'm thinking about fuel distribution here...) Factury lower "pollution" era pulley (extra belt) and Fabricate an idler pulley.... Anyone want to build a 10Psi Blown 1100 for under $1500 ? There is the recipe for about 90/hp wheels (115/Crank!!) i reckon with careful tuning !! ![]() J PS - would have gone this way, but i've just landed an IHI RHF-5 Ball-Bearing Turbo..... maybe a little large i'm thinking, but hey, it can support 250Kw !! (yea, a little more than a little 1000 can push I'm sure !!) |

That looks like a Shorrock.... Definitely a supercharger, but a very low pressure one... Its a vane-type compressor (like the insides of an air motor) - uses a lot of power to run, and doesnt give an awful lot back.....AND they heat the air up a lot too ! The japanese designs are a LOT more efficient !! J |

hey all, im quite interested in the idea of forced induction of some discription for my 1275, but i dont really know much about it well actually about motors in general BUT thanks to the people on here i am learning, but the pic in this topic looks odd to me, i cant see a carbie anywhere, does this setup not need one or is it hidden on the underside of the blower?? We just got a Mig ( i think) welder at work, how hard would it be to make up my own "ducting" (sorry i dont know the correct terms) to fit a turbo or supercharger, especially for a turbo as i dont want to cut that cross brace thing to make one fit? Would aluminum tubing be alright to use as we have an ubundance of it at work and the welder is setup to weld ally aswell. Thanks and sorry for the thread hi-jack trent |

Yeap there certainly is. The brickworx ute is using a 1.5" SU. Whenever that will be on the road, i do not know. |

Adelaide Jap??? mmmmmmm maybe. Japanese Motorsport is my shop of choice...... a few hundred blowers on their shelves - subaru ones, toyota ones, all sorts. And turbos galore aswell. |

Post subject: | Welding Ally |
Kasper, making manifolds by hand from Ally tube can be bloody difficult especially if you haven't welded before. Still if you want to try another take may be to buy the mandrel bent angles (available from ricer performance shops) and just weld them (and straight bits together). Welding Ally is also pretty tricky (more tricky than steel because of the much lower melting temperature), maybe the Doc can confirm this. But give it a go especially if you have the MIG available for free? And if it stuffs up you can use it as a lampshade... ![]() Cheers Matt |

That Austin setup sure is neat, but those Jap superchargers are soooo much better. You can crank the boost up a bit more without having to have an intercooler. I recon one of those Toyota superchargers would be ideal for a street Mini. A turbo would give more power, but then I'd want to intercool it, crank up the boost & spoil it all... I always get carried away, and a poor old A series just wouldn't take it. |

![]() Cheers Matt Neatest way to weld ally pipes etc is with TIG. MIG will do it, but not near as good or neat a job. And the pipes have to be thicker with MIG. ![]() Either way, the prep is time consuming. Welding is the easy part. ![]() |

When this one came up for $200, thoughts of a garrett went out the window ![]() Always watch ebay, know what you want, and how much you are willing to spend.... then use a sniping service !! (no, i wont talk about this any further...) Should arrive in the next day or so ...... J |
