this is just a question because i has a young guy come into work today asking me to sell my van to him, after i had said no he then told me he wanted to convert it to fuel injection... so i thought cool what sort of conversion are you going for?

he told me a SSS pulser 2ltr sr20 engine...., thinking that it wouldnt be possible due to power to weight issue and other things he procceded to tell me that some guy here in sydney had one done at the drags at eastern creek.

now i havent heard or seen of one and was wonder if anyone else has? and secondly im pretty sure its not possible to be road legal but could the conversion be done???

I've seen one... but it was basically a mini shell on top of the donor cars running gear. I'll see if I can find pics...

Joe i think you should do this conversion on your van.it should be legal dont worry about that any way till after you complete the conversion. it should be a breeze with your mechanical knowledge.once you have built yours charge that guy that came into your work to do his.

biggest engine u can fit legally is a 1.8 litre n/a and the biggest turbo donk i think by memory is a 1.3 litre turbo eg starlet gt,i only found this out by asking helpfull guy at trick fits at chipping norton,so SR20 would be out of the question unless u want ur butt rapped by the cops an rta..so throw a CA18 in a mini or even a astra 1.8 coz anythink bigger goes way over the power to weight guidelines or somethink like that anyways i got told...

Normally Aspirated is 3x Original weight in CC's, Turbo's 2.5 (according to DOTARS Rules). So 3x 730 = 2190cc NA, or 2.5x 730 = 1825cc Turbo

You could try and find a 1800cc Turbo and get away with it, subject to Engineer of course.

Normally Aspirated is 3x Original weight in CC's, Turbo's 2.5 (according to DOTARS Rules). So 3x 638 = 1914cc NA, or 2.5x 638 = 1595cc Turbo

You could try and find a 1600cc Turbo that is on the shy side of 1600 and get away with it, subject to Engineer of course.

so an a-series would be legal then :P

eg Dicko

Where do they get the 638kg for a Mini, most Minis weigh more than that- a Cooper S, any Clubby or a 1275LS is heaps more.
