Not to sure I think the mouting bracket is different but I would need to look at the one in the shed to see if the whole dizzy is same and ahs the provisions for the old style mounting bracket.

I'm about to convert my Pulsar D4R85 dizzy from A series to A+ for Barney's 1293.
The A+ drive dog is different, the roll pin is smaller, and once I run a file around the Pulsar dizzy's body (or stick it in the lathe) the A+ finger clamp will work fine.

Diameter and body length of A series and A+ dizzys are pretty much the same.

The mounts on the A+ 1275 motor (from what iv seen) use a diffrnt type of mount, but if you buy a late nuff A+ motor it may well have elec. ignition in it?
OR
are you already in on the pulsar dizzy thing?,they do sound like a good idear, but id be tempted to leav my stuff mini with a pertronic kit if i could

Yes, A+ block mounts it different but the Pulsar dizzy can be modded easy to do both.
I've had a Pertronix- they work, but they don't fix the worn bushes and advance mechanism that are a feature of all old Lucas dizzys.
I have yet to find a Pulsar dizzy with any slack in it- they are beautifully made by Mr Hitachi.

re the late electronic Lucas- much of the above applies, and they have had problems with external ignition modules. Pulsar dizzy has it all under the cap... neater system.

Do the pulsar dizzys use a ignition coil of there own,or can it be wired to the mini one already on the car?

Pulsar dizzy uses a standard 1.5 ohm `resistor' coil (but without a resistor), not the 3 ohm Mini one.
For $40 at the wreckers we get the Pulsar dizzy, coil, cap & leads too..

Bosch GT40-R coil works OK with the Pulsar.
