Post subject:  speedo position regulations?

im fitting a mdf dash to my mini , where the gauges are at the moment i cant see the speedo :( so i wat thinking of moving the whole 3 gauge cluster ( mini clubman that is) to the middle of the dash before i make up a new dash board, is there any regulations in gauge positioning? concidering i cant see them at the moment :?:

Here in Canberra there is a Rover 1.3i running round with the triple guage cluster mounted centrally. In fact in the UK you can buy wood dashboards set up like this (the 1.3i has one I believe).]
Couldn't see any dramas - after all, Minis had them centrally to begin with - and modern cars such as those bloody Toyota Echos have them centrally, so I guess it is ADR compliant.

One of the guys at work has been given a Nissan X-Trail as a hire car while his is at the panelbeaters. It's another car with a tiny speedo in the centre console, and the tacho is on the FAR side.

tacho on the far side......seems pretty stupid..the again it is a Nissan.
i cant see an issue with it being in the centre! As long as you can see the mofo!
