Taper roller bearings are stronger, but the stock ball bearings were used on Morris 1100,1300, 1500, all late Minis in UK, Metros, etc. It's BS... I greased my tapered roller bearings 70,000 miles ago (10 years) they are still not loose or noisy so that's BS too.. Best grease I reckon is Castrol high melting point wheel bearing grease, it's made for the job. But, I've used Valvoline etc EP2 lithium grease (the blue one) it's a bit runny, but OK. ![]() |

Castrol HMP is good for wheel bearings but NBG for CVs. They need special grease with MOS2 in it. Can use LMM but there are better ones now. |

Hey guys, I just did my wheel bearings, and put new CV boots on. I can tell ya right now, that Valvoline VALPLEX M is bloody great. 10 bucks from Repco for a cartridge. Its an EHP grease thats Molybdenum Disulphide fortified(no I didnt need to read the cartridge to spell it). Black thick stuff, and it doesnt run at all. Ideal for Disc and Drum bearings, AND CV JOINTS. |

You want 195 x 50 x 13"? or will 195 x 45 x 13's do. You can buy Dunlop version or Continental's. Dunlops available from Stuckey tyre's in Brunswick here in Vic but not sure about in Qld. |

At Stuckey's they are about $240 each. I think Northern mini Parts also has them a little cheaper. I am pretty sure the Continental would be cheaper. Tyres4u in Sydney can get them. They have a website at http://www.tyres4u.com.au |
