Don't forget you need to cut 1/2 the firewall away to fit that turbo- unless you do what kazjim did, and stick it above the clutch.. ![]() ![]() |

does anyone know he difference with a standard HIF44 (1 3/4" Su) and the metro turbo carby which is stilol a 1 3/4"Su.... |

Yea, the HIF-6 from the Metro Turbo has a few extra passages in it to pressurise the float bowl and reversed throttle shaft seals to keep the mixture in the carb.... Also O'rings on the Suction chamber J |

so in all reality i cant run a standard su, it has to be a turbo unit? i would like a turbo unit, but they are quite hard to find it seems.... |

IF you ran a standard SU, you would have higher pressure in the "venturi" area than the float bowl..... instant leanout.. leanout = heat = detonation = melted pistons . . . Not a lot of fun ...... Unless you use it in "Draw-through" mode (Carb, Turbo, Engine) then it is totally normal operation.... you just need to ensure that the turbo has an oil seal as it will now be running in a vacuum.... you calso cant usea BOV or an Intercooler.... Oh and cold starting is a bitch and throttle response suffers.... but hey, I'm biased ! J |

right, now i understand.... Definately want to run both intercooler and blow off valve.... and I dont want to lose any respoinsiveness, thats what makes them fun..... you have a turbo car aye kazjim? |

just out of interest how much did brickworx charge you for those parts? |

e was very reasonable. $150 + postage.. The turbo seems in decent nick, though I am going to have it serviced or rebuilt if its deemed necessary by GR... The manifolds seem to be a mox of professional and home made... But they should work well and they came wih heat wrapalready on them. The only problem i think i might have is that they seem to be for a cluby or moke, as they are a very tight squeze into my round nose... f anyone has a meto carb or small intercooler let me knw please |
