I want to get a bit more out of my auto set up but before we get crazy I'll give yous some info.
It will be in a cruiser panelvan not a race car, but I still some go of the line and something that can sit on 110km/h no worries. It'll be bodykited, big wheels, big stereo etc etc. It already has air con and is SPI.
So I don't want to bore out the engine, just looking at a cam, some slight head work and maybe tart up the SPI. I will be fitting a set of LCB's and I'm open to susgestions on the size of the exhaust aswell, I want it to be whisper quiet.
So any suggestions on head work , cam, SPI set up, exhaust etc etc

Thanks in advance.

I wasn't wanting to go that far Matt, and with the air con it might be a bit tight with the bigger head (but still possible, just not this time)  .

Don't fit too big a cam, or it'll be a bigger slug off the mark.
A Kent 256 or maybe 266 will be plenty.
You can also get the torque converter modded to give a higher stall rpm, which will help too.

It'll never win any drags, even Greig Malaure's GF's 1430 auto with RE13 cam and 112HP (at crank) could only manage mid 17s at WSID.

What about head work? Would a port, match and gas flow be worth while, I don't really want to go for new/bigger valves due to my budget :? . is it worth playing with the head at all?

I believe those SPI manifolds respond well to porting as they are a crap shape.
But get someone to do it who has done em before.
The later heads are pretty good stock, but a few hours with a die grinder makes them better.
