Hi, putting a 45DCOE13 on the car. One mini mechanic says to use the lever type linkage set up and another says the wheel type is better. Any suggestions? |

it doesn't really matter so long as: 1) the full pedal travel allows for full wide open throttle 2) there are no kinks in the accelerator cable I've run both a wheel and a redline lever type and both are the same to me. But i've had less issues with the lever type linkage as there is more adjustment. EDIT: one thing to note though, some linkages require a rod that needs to be mounted at 2 points to the intake manifold. If your manifold does not have places to mount these then this could be a problem |

I have run a lever one for 13 years and it was on the car when bought. The only problem I had was when one of the plastic rod ends/heim joints supporting the shaft broke at Wakefield Pk. I now use real (metal) heim joints, no more worries. ![]() Whichever system you use, pay attention to how to the cable runs from the casing anchor to the linkage arm or wheel. Make this as straight as possible or you will wear out/break cables. Not that I ever have... ![]() |

Also make sure that the pedal is on the floor at 95% throttle. You don't want the cable loaded up trying to get the last 5%. ![]() |

Well, I'd go for 99.9% with the carpet squashed flat ![]() |

![]() You may think that you will lose a race by not having that last 5% but you will certainly lose a race with a broken cable. |

Nooo...but you think you're going faster, and that's the main thing ![]() ![]() |
