Post subject:	MAD998 - supercharged Moke project
For those on the Moke forum - please dont yawn. I have been working on fitting up a Blower on a 998. I got a AISIN AMR300, Metro turbo Carby and plenium, Intercooler - special blue elbows and some ali tube. Still to fit an uprated fuel pump and rising pressure relief valve. The parts ready to fit. Carby - re kitted and ready to play. Had to cut in to the fire wall to fit the Carby All plumbed up and ready to blow! My attempt at a manifold. So far it idles like a dog, goes like a cut snake and gets the odd look and smile I need some help setting up the carby, the oil weight in the pot, the spring type and the needle? All in all it has taken a few weekend and has been fun. I ran it up on the dyno before I started - a whopping 30 HP at the wheels - I am looking forward to seeing what I get when I have it all sorted out.

Looking good mate, I'll be keen to see how this runs once you have ironed out the problems... Any idea what boost your running? Do you get the vroom-psshtt sound with that BOV If you have a colour-tune that might help you to set the idle mixture then go from there... You may also need to redo your timing as according to vizard supercharged engines need less advance and a curve that comes in quick with the boost...

Vroom, psst - Yes. I am only running 7 PSI on average. It feels like it wants to go. I dont want any more than that as things may go BANG. I am going to get a Air flow ratio meter - wide band and fit up - to see how things are going on inside the cylinders.

I think you meant wide band oxygen sensor, not air flow meter. An oxygen sensor goes in the exhaust and is used to determine mixture. An air flow meter goes on the inlet side and is ued to determine how much fuel should be added. M

For starters it looks like a fairly good installation, nice and shiny Try "Barns High performance" in Nambour, he should be able to tell you what you need and he'll be able to tune the car as well, just make sure you have some $$$ a simple tune and dyno read-out is in the $100 bracket so mucking around with timing/advance, carb springs, needles etc etc could be quiet pricey. Also try "Suncoast Automotive" in Maroochydore, they'll be able to help you out with needles and springs How stable is that tensioner on your radiator bracket? Finally do you have someone lined up to mod plate it, you don't want to be defected.

Kennomini - I had not thought of the mod plate yet. Do you have any recommendations? The Radiator is locked off to the bracket on to of the Thermostat It may move a "bit" but it seemed a good idea at the time

If I upgrade to disk front end (I want to anyhow) limit boost to 7 PSI I can get the setup up blue plated. No I just have to try and convince the wife

Being a moke you could get some 8.4" disc's, correct?
