My uncle called me this arvo and said his friend has a set of genuine cooper S twin su's for $200 on a manifold. I'm going to check them out Tuesday arvo and was wondering if their was anything I should be looking for in particular. Also is $200 a good price for a pair on a manifold? I assume their 1 1/4 su's but I'll post more when I know more.

Check the numbers on them - that'll tell you what they are off of (there is a list on the MOCQ website. You'll be able to tell the size just by looking at them (they bolt onto the manifold vertically (ie the studs are above/below each other for 1 1/4's)

I think that's a fair price.

Factor in rekitting them (you have to buy 2 kits), give them a good clean, some air filters (if necessary), and you'll have some fun.

If I had a lazy $200 and a set of twins appeared, I'd probably buy them at that.

$200 is a good price, if you ask me. Just look at the prices right hand tanks are fetching.. twins in good condition on an original manifold would probably fetch a bit more than that on fleabay.

twin 1 1/4's always go for around $300 on ebay, $200 is really good, even better if it has the original air filter box, if you dont get it, pass the details on to me.

I got them , they need a linkage and a few little bits but it all looks good.
I don't need them but thought I may in the future, so what's a good way to store them? Should I rebuild them so their ready to bolt on then wrap em in a rag and store them away or just oil them and store em?

Carbs usually store pretty well, the alloy doesn't corrode the same way that steel parts do. I'd strip and clean them, then put them back together without oiling them -- that's just going to attract dirt.

With steel parts, I've often stored them with a sachet or two of that silica gel stuff, it attracts and absorbs the moisture..
