Another query about what'll fit up to my 1275cc A+ series engine.
I don't have any clutch case, clutch, flywheel etc for the A+ but I have all that gear on the old 1100. Will it swap straight over? Obviously I will be getting new cooper S clutch and probably a lightened fly but will it all the casings etc bolt up?

i believe you can fit a non verto type clutch housing etc to a a+ box with no issues, heaps of people do it because you can lighten non verto flywheels more, also some people have probs with verto clutches and parts arnt as easy to find as standard types

It depends which box you are using. If it's an A+ , then yes the 1100 flywheel housing will `bolt up'... but NO the idler gear won't fit, as the A+ box has bigger bearings.
Also the 1100 has no crankcase breather in it, you need this for an A+ 1275.
Bottom line- you will really need a flywheel housing to suit an A+ box, to do it properly.

Give us the part number cast on front of gearbox....

<edit> yes flywheel and clutch setup will fit, but put an S diaphragm in it and use a decent clutch plate- not asian afrermarket.

I have yet to get it but I'm planning on running a 22g1128 remote box with the A series primary gear.

well just find a flywheel housing off an Oz Clubby, Mini-K or Mk2 S. They are all the same.
You can tell them by the breather flange on top- if running a 1275 you need to drill that out if not done already.

Thanks Kev. :D
The 1100 I have is from a leyland and looks to have a flat sort of area at the top of the flyhweel case. Would it be too much to ask to get a pic of one just to make sure?

It's an oval flange on an angle with a cavity in the middle.
Early 1100 motors did not have this.
If yours has it, it should be the right cover.

If drilling it out for a breather you must do it at an angle, otherwise you will break through into the clutch side, the primary gear will then give thee a wet clutch.....
