Does anyone know if the 1275 engine / gearbox will "bolt straight into" a 60's round nose mini? Any info would be great. cheers, michael |

Most of the engine will. The main difference between a Midget and an 1100S donk is the north/south crank and the rear main bearing cap. If you can get an east/west small journal 1275 crank, and spend 10 mins machining the rear cap, it'll go right in. SO- if it's cheap, GRAB it. ![]() I put a 1098 Sprite motor in a Mini once. same deal. ![]() |

Can you fit Morris 1000's they look like the same blocks? Also could you then stick a mini 1275 in a Morris 1000? |

Morris 1000 block is same as an 850, except stroke is a bit longer. Why bother.... it's only a 948. You could stick a Mini 1275 in a Morris 1000 but the rear main cap is missing the oil return scroll.. and crank is wrong, so get a Midget donk instead. Or a 1098 Sprite.... ![]() |

Sell it to these guys. http://www.spriteparts.com.au/ These motors are rare for sprite and midget owners. You'll make enough to buy a good 1275 to suit your mini |

Thanks everyone. The engine isn't actually mine otherwise i would be swapping or selling to someone else of interest. I got the info of the QLD mini club classifieds and gave him a call, sounds like a genuine sale if anyones interested. Sounds likes its not for me though. Cheers, Michael. |

Meehal, Is this engine being widely publicised? I've just had a look on the QMOC website, and it's not listed in their online ads yet. I thought I might link the ad onto the Morris Minor forum... There'd probably be someone up here interested. A 1275 is never going to compete with a 4A-GE or anything like that in a Minor (or Sprite, etc), but is sure beats a stocko 803! ![]() |

wierd.... he doesn't mention anything about it being a sprite motor - maybe he bought it for a mini by mistake himself. Must have had a few calls from mini people and had to turn them away same as you. My dad has a mini 1275 with a chopped off crank in one of his minors... |
